The Challenge
Raffaella Ballet sought a logo and promotional materials that captured the elegance, romance, and artistry of ballet while honoring its namesake. The production, set in Italy, required visuals that conveyed its sophisticated tone. However, with the set still unconstructed, I needed to creatively work from set designers’ sketches and conceptual artwork to bring the performance to life. A central request was to feature an image of the late Raffaella in the main visual identity, highlighting her legacy and connection to the production.
The Solution
To honor Raffaella, I used photo compositing techniques to place her image on a balcony overlooking Lake Como, the ballet’s setting, creating a centerpiece that was both poignant and visually stunning. Soft purple hues were incorporated to enhance the romantic atmosphere and reflect Raffaella’s favorite color. Alongside the logo, I developed marketing postcards, digital and social media ads, website banners, and program designs, ensuring a cohesive and captivating visual identity that celebrated her legacy and built excitement for the performance.
